A highly poisonous Egyptian cobra got loose this weekend at New York's Bronx Zoo, sending guests, zoo neighbors and zookeepers alike into a nervous tizzy. The 20 inch-long snake forced the zoo to shut down and stay closed through Sunday.

Snake Found After a Month on a Boston Train

Melissa Moorehouse lost her pet boa constrictor Penelope a month ago when it slithered out of her jacket as she was riding the red line train in Boston.

Initially, train officials took the car Penelope was lost in out of service, so they could search for the three-foot snake. They weren’t able to find her, but she turned up a month later in an adjacent car. A train attendant who also owned a snake spotted Penelope and put her in a box.

Now Melissa and Penelope are reunited. Boa constrictors can go months without eating, and Penelope probably remained on the train because it’s kept warm 24/7.
