‘Cowboys & Aliens’ and ‘The Smurfs’ Tie for Top Spot at Weekend Box Office
The Harrison Ford/Daniel Craig sci-fi vehicle ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ tied with ‘The Smurfs’ for first place at the box office, with each taking in $36.2 million in their debut weekend.
The blockbuster ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2′ dropped to fourth, earning a total of $318.4 million in the three weeks since its release, while ‘Friends with Benefits,’ ‘Horrible Bosses,’ and ‘Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon’ dropped out of the top five.

Three new movies will be added to theaters this Friday, offering everything from cowboys and aliens to the Smurfs in 3-D.
The first is the Jon Favreau-directed ‘Cowboys & Aliens,’ in which Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford team to fight off – you guessed it – an alien-invasion in 1873 Arizona.

New Movie Releases: ‘Fast Five,’ ‘Prom’ [VIDEOS]
April 29, 2011 Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend. One is the fifth installment (yes, fifth) of the popular summer blockbuster series 'The Fast and the Furious', this time called 'Fast Five'. Most of the main players in the series are back for more high action, high energy scenes, with tons of car crashes.
The other big release this weekend is a movie called 'Prom', which as you might have guessed focuses on the events surrounding and leading up to a high school prom. It's hard to say which film will do better at the box office, as these films are targeted to two completely different audiences. Which one would you rather see?
