Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney believed his son's cerebral palsy would keep him from being able to move without assistance for his entire life. Well dad got the gift of a lifetime when he returned from Afghanistan to find that his son Michael, 6, had learned to walk.
Wife Melissa Cooney kept the fact that he could walk a secret the whole time his dad was gone. The heartwarming event was recorded as it unfolded in a school gymnasium.

A few weeks ago there was a story about a Marine who could be in trouble for making negative comments about President Obama on his Facebook page. Now Sgt. Gary Stein has learned that he will be discharged for his online comments and he completely regrets this mistake.
A marine who criticized President Obama on his personal Facebook page could be getting kicked out of the military. A military board has said he committed misconduct and have suggested he gets an other-than-honorable discharge, which means he would lose his benefits and not be allowed on base.
Part of me says whatever goes on in the battlefield should stay in the battlefield. But fortunately or unfortunately in today's world that is not the case. Somebody is always watching and this is a prime example.

It would be hard to be away from the people you love during the holidays, even worse if you are fighting a war. Marine Corps Master Sgt Robert Allen, deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan took matters into his own hands. In this video Sgt Allen not only plays this song for his wife he wrote it as well.

Most of us get annoyed when we receive spam, but one Maryland man has spent countless hours and money sending Spam to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan so they can have a little bit of home while they’re away.
This story has both sad and happy parts to it. It's definitely a story about true love. Madeline Cates lost the man she loved, Captain Travis Nelson, a Marine who was killed in the Afghan war. To honor his memory, Madeline enlisted and will deploy the same month she would have gotten married.
I'm sure her fiance would be proud, I know I am, and I don't even know her, a very brave woman with a very strong love for her man and country.
