Justin Verlander made his case for the pitching honor by no-hitting the Angels through 7 and 2/3rds innings. An errror by Verlander and another defensive boo-boo allowed two Angel runs to score in the 8th to make this a closer game than it should have been.

This game was ugly on way too many levels for the Tigers. Detroit has several players in the top ten in batting average, runs batted in, pitching wins. We sent 5 to the All-Star Game, and statistically, could have sent a couple more. The Tigers have a lot of good players. Yet they are not a very good team.
