Orionid Meteor Shower Should Be Visible Tonight

After days of clouds and rain, we are expecting skies to clear tonight and through the weekend. That will make viewing of the annual Orionid Meteor Showers visible to those willing to brave the cool temperatures. This particular meteor shower isn't quite as spectacular as the Perseid meteor shower in August, but you can expect to see 15-20 meteors or "shooting stars" per hour.

Longway Planetarium is celebrating again this year with their annual science party! You and the kids can make yummy edible monster muffins, scary flying ghosts, and an eerie lava lamp. All the fun begins on Friday, October 21st at 6pm. It's ideal for families with kids 8 and up. The cost is $12 per person, or $40 for a family of four. It includes pizza. Pre-registration is required.
