Flint Murder Rate Still Highest In Country

Last year set an all-time record in Flint for homicides with 66, and Flint is close to that pace again with 44 already in 2011. FBI statistics released Monday showed that Flint had the highest murder rate in the nation for cities with more than 100,000 people. At this time last year we had 47 dead already. Oddly enough, almost 20% of the homicides in Flint this year have come from a half-square mile area near Dupont and Hamilton streets.
