August 27, 2012 Kaitlin Nootbaar was valedictorian of her graduating class at Prague High School in Prague, Oklahoma, but she has not yet officially graduated. The 4.0 student used the word 'hell' in her commencement speech, and school officials are now refusing to grant her a diploma.

June 7, 2012 A controversial video titled 'Bully', produced by Fenton High School Juniors Abby Barnard and Kirsten Humitz, has been pulled from YouTube at the request of FHS administrators.
The video features some rather disturbing accounts of bullying from victims, as well as those who've participated in bullying other students.
Is the school upset because students say school administrators sometimes look the other way?
May 23, 2012 A high school in Michigan suspended 60 seniors, then later rescinded those suspensions after parents and staff were outraged by the school's overreaction to a senior prank. Students at Kenowa Hills High School in Walker decided to forgo traditional senior pranks that often include vandalism, and organized a bike parade.
That's right, a bike parade that led to suspensions, and threats from school administrators that the seniors wouldn't be able to participate in graduation.

May 2, 2012 Technology has changed the way we work, the way we interact with friends, and now the way students learn.
The 'Flipped-Classroom' model turns traditional classroom methods upside down. Rather than receiving instruction in class through a lecture, students are getting video-based instruction, often at home. Class time is devoted to discussing and applying the material.
One Michigan school is reporting tremendous success.
April 17, 2012 Some parents of a six-year-old aren't happy with their daughter's school after she was handcuffed and taken to the police station. School officials say the girl was throwing furniture, tearing off stuff from walls and injured the principal when she knocked over a shelf.

It's a phenomenon that's been catching on with high school students, and its popularity can be attributed partly to social networking sites and YouTube.
It's also dangerous.
