On the Cars 108 morning show today Steph and I were talking about a robbery that happened in downtown Flint.The robbery took place at the Flint Crepe Company. I want to add it's a great place to eat in downtown Flint.

Personally I feel very safe in the downtown area and I know a lot of you do to. What caught my attention about the story was how at ease the robber appeared to be when breaking into the store Sunday night.

Are You Ready to Pay to Park in Flint?

Let's face it, the city of Flint needs to raise some money. If you want to park your vehicle on or close to Saginaw Street, it'll cost you a dollar an hour. The new parking meters will be a little different that the ones we've seen before. The kiosks will be solar powered and will take coins and credit cards. It is expected that all the parking kiosks will be operational in about 30 days.

It's sad what has happened to Flint over the years. The city is in major debt, we have an emergency financial manager, abandoned houses, factories and store fronts dot the city's landscape. But once upon a time, we were called "Buick City" with a huge GM presence and a booming economy.

Free Parking In Flint – For Now

Flint had a plan to have new parking meters up and collecting by the time we hit "Back to the Bricks" week, but the plan is now on hold. The problem? The city's meter ordinance prohibits the Downtown Development Authority from installing them. Originally the Flint DDA had hoped to have about 200 parking meters in place this summer, but the ordinance that allows them to install the meters and collect the money expired before they could be ordered and installed.
