In Lansing over the weekend, a bill was passed called the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. It will allow people to refuse another person's service if it conflicts with their religious beliefs.
The activists have gotten a hold of this story that broke about a week ago. As a result it's getting some national attention. It does bring up an interesting question.
18-year-old Kymberly Wimberly has the highest grade point average in her class, but she claims she's being denied the opportunity to be its sole valedictorian - because she's black. In her lawsuit against the McGehee School District in Arkansas, its principal, and superintendent, Kymberly says she was forced to share the valedictorian title with a white student, whose GPA is lower.
