Michigan Native Kid Rock donated $50,000 to several charities selected by Detroit Mayor Dave Bing yesterday. Kid previously announced his plans to make the donation while accepting an award from the NAACP earlier this month.
April 22, 2011 It was a cold, rainy night at Comerica Park. Justin Verlander gave up three solo home runs (two to Carlos Quentin), but lit up the radar gun and the rest of the White Sox hitters all night to lead Detroit to a win over Chicago.
April 11, 2011 A 15-month-old boy was taken to the hospital Friday, after mistakenly being served alcohol at a Madison Heights Applebee's restaurant. Dominic Dill-Reese's blood alcohol level was .10 which is above the legal limit for a Michigan driver. Dominic was treated and released, and is reported to now be fine.

March 28, 2011 In late February, a security guard at a U.S. federal office building in Detroit, MI, found a suspicious package. He brought the package into the building, placed it in the lost and found and went on his merry way.
The package sat until March 18, when someone at the office decided to X-ray it to see what was inside. The contents? A bomb that had been there all along, according to ABC News.
March 13, 2011 A social media employee, responsible for posting an expletive on Chrysler's Twitter account, has been fired.
The NMS (New Media Strategies) employee tweeted, "I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to f---ing drive," apparently after enduring a rough drive in Detroit traffic.
