The deer broke through one of the stores front windows. I don't believe its intent was to rob the place. It happened around 7 a.m at the "Wears Like New" store at State Street and Center Road.

The deer had jumped through another window and attacked its reflection in a mirror. The animal was hurt quite badly, officers were forced to put the deer down.

A police officer in Huron County has been getting a lot of hits on YouTube, and a lot of praise from PETA. Officer Ryan Swartz of the Huron County Sheriff's Department responded a car-deer accident on Hellems Road in Dwight Township Friday, and found a dazed doe standing in the middle of the road.

Swartz picked up the doe, and gently moved her to the opposite side of the road. He took a minute to pet the animal, before she sprinted off.
