Patrick http://wcrz.com/?p=164519 The General Motors plant in Grand Blanc will close this summer according to a General Motors decision announced yesterday. It was frequently referred to as the "tank plant" because the U.S. government built this plant in 1942  to build armored tanks. Today it is known as the GM Weld Tool Center. It's closing will mean it's 343 employees - 28 salaried and 315 hourly will receive offers to transfer to Warren, Michigan,  or a plant in Ohio.
