I think this is sweet. (Don't you dare make fun of this little guy!) The ball was just outside Dylan Sylvia's reach, so Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett did him a solid and handed it to him. Dylan was touched, and visibly emotional.

Justin Verlander pitched like he was trying to stop a losing streak. His teammates gave him some early run support, and it was enough for the Tigers to split a day-night doubleheader with a 3-0 win in the second game.
Jose Valverde just isn't very good in non-save situations. He's 11 for 11 in save situations this season, but takes a loss after giving up a long home run to pinch-hitter David Ortiz in the 9th inning.
The streaky Detroit Tigers lost their second straight game, this time by a 6-3 score to the Boston Red Sox. Knuckleballer Tim Wakefield stymied the Tigers hitters while Rick Porcello got the bum's rush after just three innings and six Boston runs.
Max Scherzer didn't have it today. He was clobbered by the Red Sox for 7 runs in a couple of innings.
Justin Verlander pitched well enough to win. As usual, his team didn't give him much in the way of help. Verlander pitched eight innings, striking out nine batters and giving up three runs. The Tigers tied the game up in the eighth inning on back-to-back homers from Brennan Boesch and Miguel Cabrera, but couldn't deliver in the clutch when they had a great opportunity.
The Tigers had their chances. Phil Coke pitched his best game as a Tiger starter, throwing 7 shutout innings. The bullpen and the bats let him down
The second game between the Tigers and Blue Jays was rained out last night and will be made up on Monday, June 27th at Comerica park in Detroit. It's the second rainout in the last three games for the Tigers, who also had a game with the Royals washed out
