July 8, 2012 An estimated 300,000 people poured into Bay City for the 50th Anniversary of the fireworks celebration. The annual event is one of the nation's biggest. The culmination of the three-day festival was Saturday night, as 50,000 shells lit up the sky over the Saginaw River in 50 minutes.

May 15, 2012 A new era in road running begins this weekend in Midland as the starting gun for the inaugural "Qualifier" marathon and Half Marathon will go off Sunday morning. The Qualifier marathon is backed by the Crim Fitness Foundation, and should provide runners a great opportunity to set personal bests or qualifying times for the Boston Marathon or other prestigious races which require fast times to get in them.
