Earlier this month, President Barack Obama showed off his vocal chops, busting out Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" during a fundraiser at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Shortly after that, American Idol Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe invited Mr. Obama to appear on the reality show, tweeting:
