When I think back to September 11, 2001, I remember the chaos, the anger, the fear, and the confusion that surged through all of us. I also remember feelings of mourning for those that we lost, thankfulness for those who helped rescue those who could be saved, and unity as the country came together as one.
Hard to believe it's been eleven years already. The new World Trade Center once again dominates the lower Manhattan skyline. Hundreds of construction workers are at the 16-acre site every day.
My mother, brother and I spent this past weekend in New York City. It was my first time ever in Manhattan, and I absolutely fell in love with it.
During our stay, we had the opportunity to visit the 9/11 Memorial. It was a very emotional visit, and I will remember it always.
