Meningitis is a serious and potentially fatal illness. Preventing the spread is a huge undertaking, as the staff and students in the Swartz Creek school district are completely aware. The district was closed last Friday as every building and every bus was cleaned and disinfected.  Two people were diagnosed with meningitis, including one student.

At this point, officials have given the 'all-clear'. This morning buses are running, buildings are open, and students and staff are hoping to get back to their normal routine.
