Suicide Prevention Walk, ‘Illuminate’ in Downtown Flint Next Month

Illuminate is an evening for us all to come together to show the light of life. This family-friendly suicide awareness event is aimed to reduce the stigmas around mental illness and prevent suicide.

This interactive walk is FREE and open to the public.

Join NAMI Genesee County along the luminary-lit half-mile stroll through downtown Flint on the night of Saturday, September 22nd from 6:30-8:30 PM. The night will kickoff at Brush Park on the corner of First and Harrison (next to the brand-new Flint sign). There, you'll be able to purchase t-shirts and luminary bags to decorate, get warmed up in the bounce house from Karterz World LLC, and hear inspirational speakers. The event will be hosted by Pat and AJ in the Morning from Cars 108.

Along the route, you'll be able to stop at five different stations:

• Veterans Stop
• DIY Slime Stop
• Art Stop
• Spiritual Stop
• University of Michigan-Flint Stop
