The heroic act went down on Sunday off the coast of Panama City, Florida.

Derek and Jessica Simmons noticed a group of about nine swimmers struggling to stay afloat at around 6:30 PM - after lifeguards had left for the day, and when the tide started to come in. It was pulling them out to sea.

Derek, Jessica and a group of people decided to form a human chain to rescue the swimmers - the group grew from five to about forty people. Police were called and a rescue boat was summoned, and the swimmers were eventually saved. Two of them were taken to a local hospital for water in the lungs.

These people are REAL HEROES. Amazing.
