Steph Barber from our morning show is an excellent cook. She does it all, from meals to desserts. I'm not that proficient, but I can pull together a couple of pretty good meals. Here is one of my favorites!

You Will Need:

  • 1 lb Navy Beans
  • 2 lbs Ham Shanks
  • Chopped Celery
  • Sliced Carrots
  • 6 Potatoes

One of my all-time favorites to make is bean soup. It is my mom's recipe actually, and I just add one little ingredient to it to make it my own. Combining the beans, ham shanks, celery, carrots, potatoes, and onions with just the right combination of seasonings can make your house smell so wonderful after a long day of simmering on the stove. My secret ingredient? Add a tablespoon full of garlic salt to give it just that extra flavor!
