Social Worker, Supervisor Charged in Detroit Toddler’s Death [VIDEO]

Two Wayne County employees have been charged in the death a 3-year-old Detroit boy last May. Elaine Brown and Kelly Williams have been charged with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree child abuse, and willful neglect of duty.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's office says the pair were aware that the child's mother was becoming increasingly incapable of take care of the child, due to mental illness. They say that Brown and Williams had a legal duty to protect the child, and failed to follow procedures as outlined by the Department of Health and Human Services.

The boy's mother was arrested earlier this year in connection to his death.
