Visitors this year to Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad will have to work a lot harder to find a place to smoke.

The Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission voted 7-2 on Thursday to ban most tobacco use at the park. However, according to MLive, the commission asked Parks Director Amy McMillan to establish two smoking areas within the park and to allow tobacco use in the parking lot. The recommendation for the ban was a result of a survey done by the Genesee County Parks last year that showed 77 percent of county residents at least somewhat supported a tobacco free park there. Parks commissioners agreed to a move in that direction but don't want to alienate customers and implement the ban gradually. They will test the policy this year and re-evaluate next year.

What do you think of the move? Are you for banning smoking in outdoor areas?
