‘Smiling Dog’ Diggy Owners Fight City of Waterford to Keep Adopted Dog [VIDEO]

You may have seen the picture of Waterford resident Dan Tillery and his new dog Diggy, which has gone viral since his new owners adopted the pooch.

The dog, who has become known as the 'Smiling Dog' is classified as an American bulldog. But soon after the photo went viral, township residents complained to police that the dog is actually a pit bull.

Now, officials in Waterford insist that Diggy (formerly known as Sir Wiggleton) be located. A long-standing ordinance prevents residents from owning a pit bull or pit bull terrier within the township.

A hearing on the matter is scheduled for Monday (6/13), according to WXYZ.
