Simon Says, ‘Don’t Sing These Songs’ to ‘X Factor’ Candidates

Simon Cowell predicts “X Factor” will be better than “American Idol” and “The Voice.” He also revealed to the Hollywood Reporter the five songs he never ever wants hopefuls to sing when they’re auditioning:

  • R. Kelly‘s “I Believe I Can Fly”
  • Etta James‘ “At Last” (“I’m allergic to it,” he says.)
  • The Righteous Brothers‘ “Unchained Melody” (“Whoever said that was my favorite song was joking.”)
  • Jason Mraz‘s “I’m Yours”
  • John Legend‘s “Ordinary People” (“It’s never as good as the original.”)

I’ve been to a few karaoke bars, and judged a few singing contests, so I’d have to add “Black Velvet” to the list! What song would you add?
