When sipping a drink, responses were up to 22 percent slower and drivers were 18 percent more likely to experience poor lane control.

The concept of making it a law is catching on. Under a new law in South Dakota, you can get a ticket if you're eating, reading the paper or putting on make-up in the mirror while driving. Offenders will be fined $100.
