It's more than just a shooting. It is being treated like "domestic terrorism" by Federal authorities. A gunman yesterday arrived outside a Sikh Temple near Milwaukee and according to police reports, he shot and killed two people outside the temple, and then walked inside and killed four others.

WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee reports the president of the temple in Oak Creek, WI, Satwant Singh Kaleka, is being treated for injuries he received during the shooting.

A police officer who was shot multiple times by the gunman is also being treated at an area hospital.

Another officer on scene shot and killed the gunman. “Because of the heroic actions of our officers, they stopped this from being worse than it could have been,” said Chief Edwards.

At this time, details about the gunman are unknown.

“We’re treating this as a domestic terrorist type incident,” Chief Edwards said. “The FBI has the resources needed to help investigate that. The ATF is also involved with this, along with the Milwaukee Police Department.”
