Sheriff Pickell’s Drug Team Could Get Eliminated

The Genesee County Board of Commissioners are meeting today to go over the budget which needs to be finalized at the end of the month. The board is dealing with a $17 million deficit so they need to make cuts everywhere in order to work it out. One program that has the potential to be eliminated is the drug team which Sheriff Pickell formed, according to the Flint Journal. 

The sheriff put the Posse team together so they could focus on the drug problem in Genesee County, but commissioners say they have to cut every department by 15% in order to solve the huge deficit problem. If for some reason the department gets cut, the team would still be able to finish up cases they are currently working on.
