Sheriff Pickell stopped by the studio earlier to clarify the misunderstanding regarding check points. He says it's been noted in a few papers about this controversial issue, but he wants the community know he simply has a sign:

"I don't have check points or road blocks because those are unconstitutional. I simply have a sign that says sheriff's drug and addiction one mile and there's nothing down there. It's like a guy who has a beware of dog sign on his fence but has no dog."

The sheriff wants it to be known that his focus is heroin and cocaine and by having the sign, he's simply trying to keep drug dealers out of Flint and Genesee County. He says he's trying to keep the community safe.
