Someone I know recently posted on Facebook that he is studying Physchology at collage. I really hope that works out for him.

For the record, this young man is not attending one of the seven Michigan schools that made the list of top 300 schools in the world, according to the latest edition of the 'Fiske Guide to Colleges'.

The University of Michigan, MSU, and five smaller colleges made the list, published yearly by New York Times Education Editor Edward Fiske. He has long been considered the top independent voice in college admissions.

Michigan schools included in this year's top 300:

  • Albion College
  • Alma College
  • Calvin College
  • Hope College
  • Kalamazoo College
  • University of Michigan
  • Michigan State University
