‘Sesame Street’ Is Introducing A Poverty-Stricken Muppet [VIDEO]

Sesame Street has created a new Muppet named Lily. She will represent the 17-million American children that are poor and hungry. Lily makes her debut this Sunday night in a CBS Prime Time Special about hunger. Seems a little heavy for a kids show topic, what do you think?

Producers spent a lot of time thinking about what would make her empathetic to children, including her style of dress, her voice and even her mannerisms. Her character will have a tendency to look down at her feet instead of making eye contact.
