Security footage (below) from the National Corvette Museum is Bowling Green, Kentucky shows horrific moments from early Wednesday morning when a giant sinkhole opened under the facility's sky dome wing, gobbling up eight vintage Corvettes.

Another video was shot by a remote controlled drone sent in to explore the destruction.

Museum officials say the damage caused by the 40-foot-wide sinkhole could total several million dollars.

  • A 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil"
  • The 1992 white "1 Millionth Corvette"
  • A 1993 ruby red "40th Anniversary Corvette"
  • A 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette
  • The 2009 white "1.5 Millionth Corvette"
  • A 1993 ZR-1 Spyder
  • The dome area of the museum where the damage was sustained will be closed indefinitely.
