A special needs child was turned away from meeting a mall Santa after Claus said he was afraid of her service dog, which was dressed as a reindeer.

The girl, who suffers from autism, is often overwhelmed by sounds, lights, and sensory input. Her service dog - a pit bull named Pup-Cake - accompanied her as she waited in line at the Shops at Mission Viejo in Mission Viejo, California.

When the pair reached the front of the line, they were turned away because Santa was afraid of the dog. Although the family offered to take the dog out of the building, the little girl was still denied to the opportunity to see Santa.

The girl's family contacted the mall's management group, who later fired Santa and his elf.
