A math teacher is accused of calling a 16-year-old boy "Gay," "Gay Boy," "Mrs. Pete," and "Mrs. Peter" in class, and encouraging other students to belittle the boy. The lawsuit, filed in Charleston County, South Carolina, says the bullying escalated to the point that the boy attempted suicide.

The boy is has withdrawn from school, and is currently being treated.

The suit does not specifically name the teacher as a defendant, but claims school administrators failed to stop, discover, or prevent the teacher's actions.
