Record-Breaking Jeopardy Contestant Knows All The Answers (And Questions) [VIDEOS]

Sony Pictures

Just about everyone has heard the name Ken Jennings.  Known for his record-setting winning streak on the classic TV game show ‘Jeopardy!’, Jennings won 74 games before being defeated by Nancy Zerg in his 75th match.  The record for the second-longest winning streak on the show was David Madden’s 19 wins.  That was until last Friday when that record was broken by Chicago-area resident, Julia Collins, with 20 wins and a total of $428,100!

She now holds the record for second-longest winning streak, and the woman with the most wins in cash and games won.  Julia has been out of work since the beginning of the year, so her winning performance couldn’t have come at a better time.  It’s a lifelong dream come true for Collins who wrote in her 8th grade yearbook,

"Julia Collins will be the “Ten Time Jeopardy Champion”, winning each tournament twice."

The show and its contestants have been breaking records and making news over the past few years. From Flint’s Rose Adams appearance on the show, and an amazing double “Daily Double”, to Alex Trebek’s heart attack and two cases of contestants being screwed, one because of pronunciation and another because of spelling. Hopefully Julia’s winning-streak will continue pronunciation and spelling error-free, and without any surprise appearances from Watson, IBM’s Jeopardy-playing PC.  Good luck, Julia!

UPDATE: On her 21st appearance, Julie was defeated.  But still… one heck of a run!
