Flint's White Horse Tavern will host a community reception in honor of Flint boxer Claressa Shields.

The reception is tonight from 5-7 p.m. at the White Horse, located at 621 W. court St. A $20 donation is suggested, in order to defray costs not covered by the US Olympic Committee.

The public is invited.

The 17-year-old received confirmation on May 18th that she'll be competing in the 2012 London Olympic Games. Shields will report to training camp in Colorado on June 27th.
