Rain interrupted Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between the Tigers and Texas Rangers. Game 2 was called off hours before it was scheduled to begin, and will be played tomorrow afternoon (weather permitting). The Rangers beat Detroit 3-2 in the first game which had nearly two hours worth of delays in the 5th inning. Max Scherzer will face the Rangers' Derek Holland in a game scheduled tomorrow afternoon at 4:19. The postponement also eliminates a scheduled day off for travel as Game 3 will still take place Tuesday night in Detroit.

The Tigers got more bad news as Magglio Ordonez has had a relapse of some sort with his surgically repaired right ankle. Ordonez is out for the rest of the postseason and possibly looking at a career-ending injury. The Tigers will replace Ordonez on the playoff roster, but who will take his place is uncertain at this time. Delmon Young injured his oblique muscle in the last game of the ALDS and was left off the ALCS roster. Austin Jackson, Ryan Raburn, Don Kelly and Andy Dirks are the only outfielders left on the current playoff roster.
