Today is National Running Day. Saturday you have another great reason to lace up the running shoes. It's the Race For Chase 5k, 10k and Kids run Saturday morning in Millington. I'll be running this one because this race means something more than just getting in some quick miles.

The Race For Chase is held in memory of Chase Coleman, who died in a car accident in 2003. At the time of this heartbreaking loss, the Coleman family was approached about donating Chase's organs. They consented, and Chase's organs helped several people to survive and thrive.

Chase's brothers, Lon, Trevor and Brandon soon took up the cause of getting others to become organ donors and decided that sports was a great way to do it. They started the Tri For Life Triathlon and the Race For Chase runs in their hometown of Millington.

The Race For Chase starts at 9 am in front of the Post Office in Millington. Race day registration opens at 7 am. To find out more about this run and the other Tri For Life events, and to get information on how to become an organ donor, visit: www.donatelifetriathlon.com

I'm an organ donor and a runner. I'll be looking for you in Millington this Saturday morning for a nice run on the Columbiaville bike path for a great cause.
