A large crowd gathered this morning (7/24) to watch the waitress that has kept watch over Corunna Rd. lowered to the ground. For about 40 years, the 12-foot statue has been perched in front of Colonial Coney Island, but the new owner says she doesn't fit in with the restaurant's new direction.

After the waitress was lowered to the ground, many people had their picture taken with her, according to WJRT.
