Professor Allan Lichtman made a bold prediction before the election:  That Donald Trump would become the 45th US President. The American University professor is also forecasting that Trump will be impeached -- by his own party.

Lichtman made headlines before the election as one of the few Washington insiders who disagreed with pollsters and prognosticators, and one of the few who had the opportunity to say, "I told you so," afterwards. He based his prediction on 13 historical keys, and says he's correctly predicted each presidential race correctly for the last 32 years.

In the Washington Post video video below, Lictman says his presumption of Trump's demise is somewhat less scientific.

“I’m going to make another prediction. This one is not based on a system, it’s just my gut. They (Republicans) don’t want Trump as president, because they can’t control him. He’s unpredictable. They’d love to have Pence — an absolutely down-the-line, conservative, controllable Republican. And I’m quite certain Trump will give someone grounds for impeachment, either by doing something that endangers national security or because it helps his pocketbook.”
