Powerball Jackpot at $325 Million for Saturday’s Drawing

Tomorrow night’s Powerball jackpot is $325 million dollars. That’s a lot of moolah.
If you won, a lump sum payout would give you a check for just over $200 million. That would put you in the same tax bracket as Prince Fielder. After Uncle Sam takes his pound of flesh, you’ll still have more than $100 million left over to try to eke out a living.

Powerball recently raised ticket prices to $2, with the intent to offer bigger jackpots. So far, the plan seems to be working. This would be the 9th largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. If nobody wins this drawing, the next one could approach record setting territory.

If I call in sick on Monday, you’ll know the reason. I’ll send you a postcard from someplace warm.
