Poignant Photo Captures Grieving Michigan Bride At Her Father’s Grave [Photo]

This Michigan bride couldn't help but feel a few moments of sadness on what should have been the happiest day of her life. Get the story behind this emotional photo that, thanks to Facebook, has gone viral.

Almost every girl dreams of having her dad walk her down the aisle on her wedding day, but sometimes fate has other plans. 23 year-old Paige Eding, of Zeeland, Michigan lost her father suddenly to a lung infection in 2011. He was just 45.

Keenly feeling his loss, and wanting to somehow make her father a part of this momentous day, she asked to stop at his grave site on the way to the ceremony. "It was a moment of longing and wishing for him," Paige said. " I was so sad that he wasn't there physically."

The resulting photo, below, is completely organic says the photographer. Kari Wieringa, of Zander & Breck Photography. When Wieringa saw the beauty of the photo, she asked for permission to post the photo on the studio's Facebook page. It has since gone viral, with more than 719,808 "likes' and 35,434 "shares". Facebook reports that more than 20 million people have seen it so far.
