Photo of Off-Duty Detroit Cop Comforting an Injured Child Goes Viral [VIDEO]

It was a simple gesture, but his efforts meant so much. As Lieutenant Joe Tucker drove by an accident scene, he saw 10-year-old Johntez Byrd sitting on the ground. He and his family had just been in an accident on their way to school.

The image of Tucker lying on the ground, comforting the boy has since gone viral.

"Neighbors were tending to the other children, and the young man was still sort of alone. So, he was crying and nervous, so I laid down next to him," Tucker told WDIV. "The instinct of a father. The instinct of a man. And the instinct of a human being." [sic]
