Am I the only person who thinks that Nona Gaye's statement was way over the top?

A Los Angeles jury ordered Robin Thicke and Pharrell to pay the family of Marvin Gaye $7.3 million for copyright infringement of Marvin's 1977 song Got To Give It Up. Apparently, Blurred Lines was just too close for comfort. Below is a comparison of the two:

Frankly, I don't care who gets the money. Personally, I don't think they're that similar, but that's just me. However, Nona Gaye's statement was ridiculously over-dramatic. Chains? Really??
