How cool would that be? Imagine your own personal jet pack. They could be coming soon.

Martin Jetpack, a New Zealand company which has been working on the personal jet pack for the last 27 years, had a successful test run of its latest prototype at 5,000 feet over the weekend. Hit the jump and check out the video. The flight lasted for 10 minutes. A dummy was sent into the air rather than an actual human being, implying that the Martin Jetpack isn’t going to be available at your local authorized jetpack dealer by, say, the end of the summer.

But Martin does hope to get its invention to the public soon. It currently has a waiting list of 2,500 for the $75,000 personal aviation device. Not bad for such a contraption, give it a couple of years and you'll be able to find them used.
