A community in Wisconsin has adopted an ordinance which allows police to write tickets to parents whose children torment others.

Parents in Monona, a suburb of Madison, will be served a written notice when their child is caught bullying. If the bad behavior happens again within 90 days, parents are slapped with a $114 municipal fine.

A representative from the National Bullying Prevention Center says Monona is the first community to pass such an ordinance.

The ordinance also covers cyber bullying.
