There are many living legends in Flint known for many things. I could have gone have in a lot of different directions when picking my top five local living legends; I choose to keep it upbeat and positive. Here are my top five picks for Flint’s living legends. Who would you have picked?
June 30, 2011 The UM-Flint campus ' smoking shacks, ashtrays, and smoking area signs will all disappear tonight. Beginning tomorrow, students at the University of Michigan - Flint can only smoke in one place: inside their car. The 76 acre campus turns into a smoke-free zone beginning tomorrow.

Good old downtown Flint, with a bustling night life and tons to do, well that was the marketing sceme of this commercial from the 80s for the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Here is what WikiMapia says about the current site:
This building is a dormitory for the University of Michigan-Flint. When it was built in 1981 as the Hyatt Regency Hotel, it was intended to revitalize downtown Flint. The hotel changed management companies many times until 2000, when it was acquired by the Institute for Basic Life Principles. This Christian group operated it as the Character Inn - a hotel that banned alcohol and rock n roll. In 2009, U of M bought it and began a renovation.
