April 29, 2011 A news conference was held yesterday, where Argentine Township Police Chief Dan Allen announced he is going to run for Genesee County Sheriff. He is going to challenge Sheriff Pickell, who's been at the post since 1999.
April 28, 2011 Ambassadors from Reader's Digest were in Flint yesterday to give the city $1,000. It's part of the Reader's Digest We Hear You America 100 Cities in 100 Days RV tour. The magazine has been giving money to cities that have been hurting from the economy. The donation will be going to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint.
April 14, 2011 Flint Mayor Dayne Walling stopped by the studio this morning for his monthly visit. The mayor talked about the city and all of the great things going on. We also like to have some fun with the mayor so he agreed to play Battle of the Sexes. I have beat him the last four times we've played and I did it again! Watch our challenge after the jump.

Speculation is rampant this week after the state put the brakes on the city's request to borrow $20 million to cover its deficits.
Without the loan, the city will have only about a half- million dollars in cash on hand. That's not nearly enough to meet payroll expenses of $1.5 million to $2 million every two weeks.
