October 10, 2011 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is Saturday and you still have time to sign up on our team. Join us for a non-competitive three mile walk starting at 9am at the flat lot in downtown Flint. We had a great time at the walk last year so we want to get an even bigger group to help us support this great cause.
October 4, 2011 This month as you know is Breast Cancer Awareness month so there are all kinds of events and activities going on in the area. Graff Chevrolet is hosting a fundraiser on Thursday in Davison from 4 to 8pm with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Awareness for Life organization. You're also encouraged to wear pink because there will be a pink costume contest for men and women of all ages.
October 3, 2011 October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and it is important to know that the best chance to beat cancer is to discover it early. "Early detection is the best way to make sure the cancer does not become a fatal cancer," said David Schreiber, community coordinator for the Genesee County Cancer Connection. Free screenings will be offered this month on two different dates and locations.

September 26, 2011 Last week Rod and I talked about a girl in Maine who was suing her school after being suspended for wearing the popular breast cancer bracelets. The "I Love Boobies" bracelets have been very popular but the district stated they were a distraction so they threatened to suspend students if they were caught wearing them. Now they've changed their mind after the girl went to the ACLU with a lawsuit threat against the school.

September 23, 2011 Margo Rey shared more than just her music when she visited Cars 108. Margo is a breast cancer survivor, and she shared details about her discovery and diagnosis, her story of survival, and even a couple of stories about comedian husband Ron White.
Margo refers to herself as a breast cancer warrior, rather than a survivor, and she's eager to spread the word about the importance of self-examination and yearly screenings.
