It actually happened three times - in Buffalo, (pictured left) Minneapolis, and Tampa. One baby was born before midnight on December 31st, 2011; the other twin waited until after midnight, therefore getting a birthday on New Year's Day 2012!
Take the jump to see video of the twin girls from Florida, and pics of the boy/girl twins from one of the "Twin Cities" in Minnesota.
When Brangelina’s twins were born, the couple was paid like a bazillion dollars — actually $12 million — for the first images. Brad and Angelina promptly donated the money to charity, with Angelina Jolie saying she did so in order to control where the images ended up and how. It was a savvy mother-protecting-her-cubs move.
But, if you are hoping to shell out a few bucks for an issue of PEOPLE or USWeekly or any other celeb tabloid to “ooh” and “ahh” over Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s yet-to-be-born, hotly contested Babyonce, hope again, folks.

As any true TV addict knows, the true meaning of Christmas is to give your fave shows the once-a-year opportunity to get all preachy and filled with holiday cheese, er, cheer. Mariah Carey gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe in April, and just seven months later, she has revealed her slim post-baby bod on ‘The Rosie Show.’
Doug Fister has been a fantastic acquisition since the trade that brought him here from Seattle. Fister tossed 7 shutout innings today against Minnesota, and the Tigers beat the Twinkies 2-1. Fister is 5-1 since coming to Detroit. Joaquin Benoit pitched a perfect 8th inning, then closer Jose Valverde created a bit of drama before finally dispatching the Twins in the 9th for his 43rd save in 43 chances. That's a new Tiger record. Valverde gave up a couple of hits and allowed a run to score before settling down and getting the Twins out to preserve the win.
Justin Verlander only gave up three hits today in six innings of work. Two of them were two-run homers to Shelley Duncan, and Verlander finished the sixth trailing 4-2. You don't win 20+ games in the big leagues without a little help, and that help showed up in the top of the seventh in the form of a five run Tiger rally. Victor Martinez hit a grand slam on the first pitch he saw from reliever Tony Sipp to give the Tigers the lead for good.
Missed opportunities. They have nagged the Tigers all season long and have kept Detroit from enjoying a comfortable lead in the American League Central division. This game went back and forth, and with the Twins up 4-3 in the bottom of the 8th the Tigers loaded the bases with nobody out. A sacrafice fly off the bat of Wilson Betemit brought home the tying run (at the time), but the Tigers could not get the clutch hit they so desperately needed. With the game tied at 4, manager Jim Leyland went to closer Jose Valverde to pitch the 9th. He should know better.
