February 15, 2012 The calendar may say that it is winter for a few more weeks, but Spring Training begins Sunday for the Detroit Tigers and the rest of Major League Baseball as pitchers and catchers report for workouts. The rest of the team will start official workouts in about a week, although many are already working out on their own. The Tigers are expected to contend for not only the American League Central title, but for a World Championship.
February 15, 2012 Last night the Detroit Red Wings extended their legacy by doing something that no NHL team had ever done, win 21 straight regular season games in a row at home! Henrik Zetterberg scored a goal in the 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars that made the crowd at Joe Louis Arena go wild! The previous record for home wins was 20 and that record was set 83 years ago by the Boston Bruins, later matched in the 1970's by the Philadelphia Flyers.

December 2, 2011 This morning, Rod & Erin were out collecting toys for kids in our area. Unfortunately, 43% of Genesee County families are at or below the poverty level. The Salvation Army will distribute those toys to needy children.

September 21, 2011 This Saturday the Flint Rogues Rugby Club will begin its 2011 season with a match against the Traverse City Blues. It happens at Robert T. Longway Park (near Potter School). Funds raised by the Rogues are being donated to the Catholic Charities North End Soup Kitchen.
